Real Widows and Widowers
We know what real widows and widowers look like; Chapter 2 is built by widows for you. We appreciate how far removed you and your fellow members are from the stereotypes that the mainstream media and dating apps often portray.
We recognise that real widows come from all walks of life. We comprise all genders and all sexual preferences, all races, all demographics, all age ranges, married and cohabiting, parents or not. Unfortunately love and loss does not discriminate and affects us all.
Here at Chapter 2 want to celebrate the reality of what real widows look like, we want to smash the stereotypes. We are planning a ‘Real Widows and Widowers’ PR campaign similar in tone and feel to the legendary Dove Real Beauty campaigns.
We want to invite you, the members of Chapter 2 to feature in a photo and video shoot to shine a spotlight on your fabulous individuality. We want you to share your stories of the challenges you faced and your hopes for the future.
The shoot will take place Wednesday 17th May at New Century Hall in Manchester, UK. All participants will enjoy a Hollywood style makeover starting at 9:30am, with hair styling, advice from personal shoppers / stylists and a lunch, followed by a complimentary dinner at a swanky city centre restaurant at 5.30pm.
Our photographer, videographer and PR team will be on hand for the shoot and filming and to capture quotes.
We hope the experience will be a fun and empowering afternoon. It will also give people an opportunity to meet like-minded widows and widowers in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
