Freelance PR / Social Media Professional Required

Chapter 2 is expanding rapidly. We are now live in the UK, USA, Australia and Canada, and currently have nearly 15,000 members across chapter2dating.app and widowsfire.dating.

There are however 3.12 million widows and widowers in the UK , approx. 15 million in USA, 2.5 million in Canada and 1 million in Australia. We need to raise awareness to these widows and widowers of our wonderful, supportive communities.

We are looking for an experience PR & Social Media specialist to help manage our organic social posts on X, Facebook and Instagram accounts.

The ideally candidate will have:

1. Personal understanding of being widowed or a deep understanding of grief.
2. Have extensive consumer PR experience and a network of contacts in digital and print publications, newspapers and magazines, TV and radio
3. Have extensive experience of creating and scheduling social media posts. We have a photo stock account to access photos and a designer who can assist occasionally for infographics
4. We have a full logo suite, a biog and photographs of Nicky Wake our founder. Nicky loves to do PR & Media interviews/appearances and is happy to share her experience of being widowed – see Nicky’s story here. 5. Experience of writing case studies – we have lots of success stories including several engagements and we love to share these on our site and in newsletters.

We have a content professional who manages the newsletter and blog content but we would be happy for the successful candidate to support by providing additional ideas and content.

This role is a remote based role. You would be expected to have a weekly Teams meeting with Nicky Wake to agree priorities and plans for each week. We anticipate 1 day a week on a budget of £350 a day. The successful candidate will be responsible for invoicing Chapter 2 and manage their own PAYE / tax implications. It is not a PAYE position. This can be any day a week but we would need an agreed work plan in place and it is based on an initial 3 month contract which would be extended if successful.
