Be Part of Our Future: The Next Chapter for Chapter Two Dating

Chapter Two Dating began as a spark of hope in the midst of grief—and has grown into a thriving, purpose-driven community spanning three dating platforms. Now nearly three years in, we’re opening an EIS-approved investment round to help us grow even further. Join us in shaping the future of love, loss, and meaningful connection.

Chapter Two Dating is nearly three years old and what an incredible journey it’s been. I want to take a moment to share part of that story with you and let you in on an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Chapter Two Dating Ltd. This is your chance to play a meaningful part in growing our unique and powerful community.

How It All Began

In the summer of 2022, deep in the midst of grief and fresh from a string of catastrophic Tinder dates, I had what some might call a crazy idea: to build a dating app exclusively for widows and widowers seeking their next chapter.

What began as a spark of inspiration—born from pain and a desire to find purpose—soon gave me focus, healing, and a renewed sense of meaning. That simple idea has evolved into something far greater than I ever imagined.

Where We Are Today

Fast forward three years, and Chapter Two Dating now:

Has grown into three niche dating platforms:

Has nearly 20,000 members

Operates in the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia

🖤 Chapter2Dating.app – for widows and widowers

🔥 WidowsFire.Dating – our naughtier sister app (launched June 2023)

💚 SoberLove.app – for the sober community (launched March 2025)

Along the way, we’ve celebrated 4 marriages, 20 engagements, and hundreds of joyful relationships.

An Opportunity to Invest in Something That Matters

We’ve funded our growth through the belief and support of 14 amazing investors—many of them first-timers, including fellow founders and members of the widow/widower community. Today, Chapter Two Dating Ltd is cash generative and poised for the next stage of growth.

We’re now opening a new EIS-approved investment round to:

  • Enhance our technology platform
  • Scale up our marketing efforts
  • Accelerate the growth of all three brands

What does EIS-approved mean for investors?

  • ✅ 30% income tax relief
  • ✅ No capital gains tax on returns
  • ✅ Inheritance tax exemption

It’s a tax-efficient and meaningful way to invest—particularly suited for entrepreneurs and higher-rate taxpayers looking to back a purpose-driven, women-led business.

Why This Matters

Women-led businesses receive less than 3% of global venture capital. In the UK, that figure drops to just 2%. Meanwhile, all-male founding teams receive 89%. It’s time for that to change.

This isn’t just an investment in Sober Love—it’s an investment in the entire Chapter Two group, including all current and future brands. Our vision is to build and grow over the next 3–5 years, with the aim of a strategic exit to a major player in the dating industry.

Let’s Talk

It all started with one app born from grief. Today, it’s a movement helping people navigate love, loss, sobriety, and second chances. If you’re interested in joining our journey as an investor—or know someone who might be—I’d love to share more.

Let’s grab a coffee (real or virtual), and I’ll walk you through the deck. Email me at nicky@chapter2dating.app or send me a DM.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

With love,
Nicky x

Facing Chapter 2

Therapy inspired me to face my Chapter 2.
Last Christmas, 2024, I found myself at lunch with four lovely actors I’d worked with a decade ago. All women now in their sixties — all still happily married. Except me.

Not that I wasn’t happily married. I was. Deeply. My husband was my best friend, my writing and business partner, my home.

But as life keeps reminding us, nothing is forever. In April 2022, after a short and brutal encounter with cancer, he was gone.

Since then, I’ve been learning how to live again — not in the shadow of loss, but in the light of love that remains.

Therapy didn’t erase the grief, but it opened the door to something new: the possibility that Chapter 2 could still be written, and that I’m the one holding the pen.
